    Experience a 20-minute multisensory walk across Strijp-S!

As part of our program Homo Sensorium exhibited during Dutch Design Week 2019, we asked our visitors and guests to experience this initiative by wearing the suit and having a multi sensory walk around Strijp-S. The response was enthusiastic.

Cosmic Travel Kit looks like a blend between an astronaut’s helmet and a protable micro-theater. We created a 20-minute multisensory walk across Strijp-S, leading past several iconic locations. The inspiration for the tour comes from time travel and the rich history of the area, but it offers more than just nostalgia. Cosmic Travel Kit guides you through the walk using GPS, while alternate realities from past, present and future are narrated through sound and scent compositions.

After Dutch Design Week 2019, some of you wrote us asking to try Cosmic Travel Kit. So get ready and SAVE THE DATE! An other tour will be available on the 21st of March.
Register for a tour and explore the Strijp-S area as if you are on another planet. Including dressing up and instruction the experience takes about 35 min. Cosmic Travel Kit allows 1 person at a time to experience the multisensory tour.

    For registration
During the 21st of March we will have about 10 slots available. Write us an email to matteo@baltanlaboratories.org with your name and phone number. We will call you back to schedule a specific time for your tour experience and send you the link to register on Eventbrite. Ticket price: 5 euro.

    Cosmic Travel Kit
Take a tour with the Cosmic Travel Kit, a wearable addressing multiple senses. Based on an original concept by Eindhoven artist Peter Nagelkerke, Baltan Laboratories took the initiative to create an artistic experience built on the rich heritage of the Strijp-S area. We invited three artists to collaborate on this mission: Klara Ravat (DE/ES), Pieter Verhees (NL) and Angela de Weijer (NL).

    Homo Sensorium
With a mix of experiments, workshops, talks, dinners, performances, guided tours, a brainwave wedding lab and films, Homo Sensorium investigates the future of our technologically mediated body.
The program is a collaboration initiated by Baltan Laboratories with BROET and Natlab. Homo Sensorium at DDW is part of a multi-year trajectory developed by Baltan Laboratories and kindly supported by Stimuleringsfonds Creatieve Industrie, Stichting Cultuur Eindhoven and Provincie Noord-Brabant.

    About the artists

Klara Ravat is an olfactory artist and experimental filmmaker. By opposing the division between the realm of memory and the real of experience, Ravat absorbs the tradition of remembrance art into daily practice. www.klararavat.com

Pieter Verhees is a maker-artist working on cross-over projects between theatre, art, new media and technology. He is fascinated by digital technology enabling us to manipulate everything that is visible, audible and sensible.

Angela de Weijer is an audiovisual artist. She composes for imagination and creates multidisciplinary experiences which stretch the boundaries of perception in the (in)audible spectrum.
