A Rorschach test for humans and AI

Work in progress of Frederick De Wilde upcoming installation Nothing2see

RORSCHACH-AI (working title) is a work in progress project by Frederik De Wilde supported by Baltan Laboratories aimed to explore the possibility of an AI being a patient and doctor at the same time. Furthermore the project explores the potential integration of a human observer in the feedback loop to create a psychographic exploration between man and machine.

The project takes advantage of very recent cutting-edge scientific research uncovering the correlation between semantics, edge fractals and Rorschach blotch contours. De Wilde puts the theory to the test and takes it a step further by applying machine learning and reaction diffusion for dynamic image generation. The artistic results will culminate in a new installation entitled Nothing2see.

In the video below, Frederick de Wilde guides us in the process, theories, references and technical aspects of his project.

The project is kindly supported by Stimuleringsfonds Creatieve Industrie and Stichting Cultuur Eindhoven
