    Period: 3 days a week | February-August (in consultation)

    Deadline: January 15th, 2024

Explore the in(ter)disciplinarity behind the fusion of art, design, and technology at Baltan Laboratories by co-producing or assisting with our projects and events.

Baltan Laboratories is a cultural indisciplinary lab based in Eindhoven. We focus on societal issues through a relational approach, creating spaces to rehearse living otherwise. We believe that the increasing complexity of our world and of the challenges we have to face no longer allow for a strictly disciplinary, reductionist and Western-based approach. In a world full of uncertainty, complexity and ambiguity, the interactions and exchanges between different disciplines are fundamental to achieving a relational approach that responds to the environmental, political, social, economic and technological issues we must address today. We can no longer divide a problem into its parts, deal with those in separate disciplines and then recompose them in a solution. In 2024, Baltan will practise a hopeful approach towards technology, exploring how it can help us live otherwise. How can we imagine a diverse and plural technological landscape resistant to the lure of capital?

The all-round production intern is mostly busy with (assisting in) planning and executing events, workshops, and residencies related to our next year's program. These can be online lectures, local events in neighborhoods, physical learning trajectories, exhibitions, and everything in between.

    Our ideal candidate:
    • Currently studying at a relevant educational with an emphasis on the practical aspects of organizing events, expos, lectures, etc.
    • Demonstrates a keen interest in art, design, science, technology, and society, wanting to contribute to an organization operating across these fields.
    • Possesses a proactive and energetic approach, coupled with hands-on organizational and productional skills.
    • Is proficient in digital and general office skills.
    • Capable of collaborative work in a dynamic, creative environment.
    • Demonstrates proactive problem-solving and strong social skills.
    • Lives in or near Eindhoven.
    • Is proficient in English language, Dutch is a plus.
    • Willingness to occasionally work outside of regular office hours for events.

    What we offer:
    • Financial compensation for enrolled students: 375 €/month for 3 days a week
    • Professional cultural and vibrant work environment.
    • Internationally oriented network.
    • Office space near and on Strijp-S, Eindhoven.
    • Expo space and lab at Natlab, Eindhoven.
