Join our free AI & Art Workshop. Experiment with AI tools such as ChatGPT and Midjourney, discover how these new programs could shape your future city. Experience is not needed, age doesn’t matter. Dream and build along! There are free fries with a special AI sauce, and you get to take home a poster with a design of your ideas.

In a 2-hour workshop, you will explore how to use the different AI tools. Chatbots such as ChatGPT help you with texts and ideas while Midjourney helps you visualize them! With scrap materials, you can build 3D models that become part of a 3D-city. This is how we build the city of our future. Design your own house, sustainable skyscrapers, more football fields or parks in the city, a discotheque of the future, flying scooters, you name it!

The workshop is facilitated by designer Pedro Gil Farias of Humankind, a Rotterdam organization for urban change and organized by Baltan Laboratories, a cultural interdisciplinary lab focused on social issues, based in Eindhoven.

You can sign up for free by sending an email to sarie@baltanlaboratories.org

If you can't come to the workshop but you are curious about the results, you are welcome at 20:30 for a drink and fries.

AI in the hood is a project to creatively engage residents in their neighbourhood using artificial intelligence (AI) and art.

AI in the Hood is part of Machines for Good. Machines for Good contributes to building a more desirable future by using AI as a tool for the engagement of (young) people and address sustainable behavior. The project investigates the potential of Artificial Intelligence (AI) for civic purposes, in line with the priority on e-democracy. Machines for good increase teeneagers’ awareness of AI and teenagers’ participation and engagement in current technological issues. The projects also raise the attention of policy makers on AI as a driver of participation, if combined with arts.

Machines for Good is a project led by Sineglossa, in collaboration with Ohme, Fundación Zaragoza Ciudad del Conocimiento and Baltan Laboratories, in association with ITSS Cambi Serrani, Ayuntamiento de Zaragoza, and Université Libre de Bruxelles. The project is co-funded by the European Union within the CERV (Citizens, Equality, Rights and Value) programme.
