CO-EMERGING ECONOMIES: EXPLORING RADICAL PERSPECTIVES ON POST-ANTHROPOCENTRIC ECONOMIES

    Follow live on www.rararadio.org

The final edition of the RaRaRaLaLaLab radioshow hosted by Baltan Laboratories, revolves around the publication CO-EMERGING ECONOMIES: EXPLORING RADICAL PERSPECTIVES ON POST-ANTHROPOCENTRIC ECONOMIES which was published March 2022 by Lecturis. The publication, edited by Olga Mink and Reon Brand, explores different (socio-economic) perspectives and examines how to rethink our relationship with the planet and each other.

During a collaborative research trajectory, multidisciplinary teams were invited to develop ideas inspired on the model Co-emerging Futures by Reon Brand. Co-Emerging Economies: Exploring radical perspectives on post-anthropocentric economies presents several contributions in which participants joined two future directions based on a post-anthropocentric view. In the Gaia perspective we see humanity as part of nature. In this view, we put the health of the ecosystem first rather than that of humans. In Etheria we strive to become part of a post-human (post-biological) intelligence, detaching ourselves from nature and the need for biological systems.

Reon Brand and Godelieve Spaas will join us live in the studio to present their contributions to the publication. Reon Brand is Design Principal – Foresight and Strategic Innovation at Philips Experience Design. He is responsible for gaining understanding of emerging future directions for the Philips Strategic Company Innovation. Godelieve Spaas is a professor in new economy at Avans University of applied science. She is researcher, practitioner and creator of new ways of entrepreneurial organizing where ecology, society, economy interact seamlessly with each other. During the radioshow they will reflect on the publication, which contains contributions by Reon Brand, Godelieve Spaas, Lisanne Buik, René van Peer, Leif Czakai, Sunjoo Lee, Sixtine Blandin and Cecille Parnasse amongst others.
