A new season of making, experimenting, and connecting kicks off this summer.
We're thrilled to announce the launch of a new BlaBlaLab program season, made possible by a project grant from Stichting Cultuur Eindhoven. From June through December 2026, BlaBlaLab is doubling down on what it does best: bringing together makers, thinkers, and curious minds in Eindhoven to experiment, learn, and create together.
Whether you're a seasoned creative technologist or someone who has always wanted to try something new but didn't know where to start, this program is for you.

How It Works
BlaBlaLab runs on the energy of its communities. At the heart of the program are four Communities of Practice: groups of makers who gather regularly around a shared interest or craft. Each community meets monthly in an informal meetup format: part show-and-tell, part brainstorm, part collaborative work session. The emphasis is always on peer learning, craftsmanship, and doing things together.
Alongside the meetups, we organize a series of workshops led by external experts: a mix of beginner-friendly sessions and deeper dives for those with more experience. These workshops are open to everyone, not just community members, and are a great entry point if you're curious about joining.
The season opens and closes with a public Communities Showcase. This a moment where the work developed inside the communities gets to breathe, be heard, and be seen by a wider audience. These are not polished exhibitions but living presentations: performances, demos, installations, and soundscapes made by the people in the room. Come see what's been cooking.
All the knowledge generated throughout the program - workshop structures, tools, references, experiments - is collected and made openly available through the BlaBlaLibrary, our growing online archive on Notion. It's a resource built by makers, for makers.
Meet the Four Communities
Live Coding This community is for anyone fascinated by code as a live, performative medium. Members program music and visuals in real time, exploring the creative possibilities of programming languages designed for artistic expression. It's part concert, part practice, part collective experiment and it connects to a broader national and international live coding scene. If you've ever wanted to make art with code in front of an audience, this is your people.
DIY Electronics Forget expensive gear and intimidating technical barriers. The DIY Electronics community is about getting your hands on recycled components, unusual materials, and budget-friendly tools, and turning them into something new. The focus here is playful discovery over technical perfection, and the results are consistently surprising. If you've ever wanted to build your own instrument, device, or electronic contraption without needing an engineering degree, pull up a chair.
Sound-Based Storytelling Sound is one of the most immediate and intimate ways to communicate. This community brings together people working across the full spectrum, from field recording and sound art to DJing and podcasting, united by a curiosity about what sound can do and say. This season, we're investing in an ongoing program for this community for the first time, and we're excited to see what stories emerge.
Nature-Technology (new this season!) This is our newest community, and we're genuinely excited about it. Nature-Technology explores the relationship between the living world and technological tools, not from a distance, but up close and hands-on. Think: using technology to listen to, visualize, and communicate with natural processes. This community asks what it means to pay attention to the non-human world, and what role makers can play in that conversation. We're starting with a series of workshops to build the group, and we can't wait to see the community that forms around this theme.
Who Is This For?
BlaBlaLab is for emerging artists and designers, (former) tech professionals with a creative itch, students, curious beginners, and everyone in between. You don't need prior experience for most of what we do, you just need to show up.
Eindhoven has no shortage of technically skilled people. What BlaBlaLab offers is something different: a space where technical knowledge meets artistic curiosity, where process matters as much as outcome, and where the community itself shapes the program.

Hoe het werkt
BlaBlaLab draait op de energie van zijn gemeenschappen. De kern van het programma wordt gevormd door vier Communities of Practice: groepen makers die regelmatig samenkomen rond een gedeelde interesse of ambacht. Elke gemeenschap komt maandelijks informeel bijeen: een combinatie van presentaties, brainstormsessies en gezamenlijke werksessies. De nadruk ligt altijd op leren van elkaar, vakmanschap en samenwerken.
Naast de bijeenkomsten organiseren we een reeks workshops onder leiding van externe experts: een mix van beginnersvriendelijke sessies en meer diepgaande sessies voor deelnemers met meer ervaring. Deze workshops zijn toegankelijk voor iedereen, niet alleen voor leden van de gemeenschap, en vormen een goede manier om kennis te maken met de mogelijkheden.
Het seizoen opent en sluit met een openbare Communities Showcase. Dit is een moment waarop het werk dat binnen de gemeenschappen is ontwikkeld, tot leven komt, gehoord en gezien wordt door een breder publiek. Dit zijn geen gepolijste tentoonstellingen, maar levende presentaties: performances, demo's, installaties en soundscapes, gemaakt door de mensen in de zaal. Kom kijken wat er allemaal gemaakt is.
Alle kennis die tijdens het programma wordt gegenereerd – workshopstructuren, tools, referenties, experimenten – wordt verzameld en openbaar beschikbaar gesteld via de BlaBlaLibrary, ons groeiende online archief op Notion. Het is een bron, gemaakt door makers, voor makers.
Maak kennis met de vier communities
Live Coding Deze community is voor iedereen die gefascineerd is door code als een live, performatief medium. Leden programmeren muziek en visuals in realtime en verkennen de creatieve mogelijkheden van programmeertalen die ontworpen zijn voor artistieke expressie. Het is deels concert, deels oefening, deels collectief experiment en het sluit aan op een bredere nationale en internationale live coding-scene. Als je ooit kunst met code voor een publiek hebt willen maken, dan ben je hier aan het juiste adres.
DIY Electronics Vergeet dure apparatuur en intimiderende technische obstakels. De DIY Electronics-community draait om het bemachtigen van gerecyclede componenten, ongebruikelijke materialen en budgetvriendelijke tools, en deze om te toveren tot iets nieuws. De focus ligt hier op speelse ontdekking in plaats van technische perfectie, en de resultaten zijn steevast verrassend. Heb je er altijd al van gedroomd om je eigen instrument, apparaat of elektronisch apparaat te bouwen zonder dat je daarvoor een ingenieursdiploma nodig hebt? Schuif dan aan!
Sound-Based Storytelling Geluid is een van de meest directe en intieme manieren om te communiceren. Deze community brengt mensen samen die werkzaam zijn in uiteenlopende disciplines, van veldopnames en geluidskunst tot dj'en en podcasten, verenigd door een nieuwsgierigheid naar wat geluid kan doen en zeggen. Dit seizoen investeren we voor het eerst in een doorlopend programma voor deze community en we zijn benieuwd welke verhalen hieruit zullen voortkomen.
Nature-Technology (nieuw dit seizoen!) Dit is onze nieuwste community en we zijn er oprecht enthousiast over. Nature-Technology onderzoekt de relatie tussen de levende wereld en technologische hulpmiddelen, niet van een afstand, maar van dichtbij en praktisch. Denk aan: technologie gebruiken om te luisteren naar, te visualiseren en te communiceren met natuurlijke processen. Deze community stelt de vraag wat het betekent om aandacht te besteden aan de niet-menselijke wereld en welke rol makers in dat gesprek kunnen spelen. We beginnen met een reeks workshops om de groep op te bouwen en we kunnen niet wachten om te zien hoe de community zich rond dit thema vormt.
Voor wie is dit?
BlaBlaLab is voor opkomende kunstenaars en ontwerpers, (voormalige) techprofessionals met een creatieve drang, studenten, nieuwsgierige beginners en iedereen daartussenin. Je hebt voor het grootste deel van wat we doen geen voorkennis nodig, je hoeft alleen maar te komen.
Eindland heeft geen gebrek aan technisch onderlegde mensen. Wat BlaBlaLab biedt, is iets anders: een ruimte waar technische kennis en artistieke nieuwsgierigheid samenkomen, waar het proces net zo belangrijk is als het resultaat, en waar de community zelf het programma vormgeeft.
